Curved Ridge Guide - Buachaille Etive Mor

A Guided ascent of Curved Ridge with a Curved Ridge Guide

Curved Ridge Enquiry

Curved Ridge is one of Scotland's most famous scrambles, it is a great way to climb the iconic Bauchaille Etive Mor in both summer and winter. A guided ascent of Curved Ridge with a Curved Ridge Guide from Elite Guides will be an experience of a lifetime. Our qualified Glencoe Mountain Guides and Instructors will guide you up this classic, which has so many possibilities to make it more or less challenging.

The start of Curved Ridge is just a short 45-minute walk from the road and it doesn't take long before you are kitting up and getting hands-on with the route. The route starts with a rising traverse beneath D Gully to take you into Crowberry basin, this is a great opportunity to get into the swing of things before things start to get a bit more challenging.

From Crowberry basin you climb the starting section of Curved Ridge, which may not be steep but it certainly feels exposed. Above this, the angle eases and you have a chance to look up at the impressive Rannoch Wall, one of Scotland's most iconic climbing locations. Once you have got your breath back it is time to get stuck into the scrambling again and the route continues up towards Crowberry tower. Here, there are a couple of options, round or up and over, both are fantastic ways to move around this very imposing part of Buachaille Etive Mor and both will take you to the top of one of Scotland's most famous mountains.
