Classic Skye Cuillin Ridge Adventures

There are so many possible adventures on the Isle of Skye with something for everyone. Below is just a list of some of the adventures or days out that could be done.

  • The Full Skye Cuillin Ridge traverse - A must for any mountaineer or climber with a number of options to start. You could walk in, get the boat, start view the Dubh Ridge. Traditionally the Ridge is traversed South to North in Summer but going in the opposite direction is equally as good.
  • A round of Coire Lagan - A great round taking in one of the more complex sections of the Ridge with sections of graded rock climbing and a good way to get a feel for whether a traverse is for you or not.
  • The Clach Glas to Bla Bheinn traverse - A personal favourite for us at Elite Guides. Fantastic scrambling and amazing views over to the main ridge. It does tend to be a bit quieter than the main ridge and feels a bit more 'wild'.
  • The Dubh slabs or the Dubh Ridge - "Doing the Dubhs" is a great adventure. Catching the boat into Coruisk and climbing immaculate slabs of Gabbro to the summit of Sgurr Dubh Beag. Then an exciting abseil before continuing up onto the summit of Sgurr Dubh Mor.
  • Guided Rock climbin on Sron na Ciche - Classic Rock link-ups, the Cioch, Vulcan wall Shang ri la. There is just so much rock to explore on this part of the Cuillin that youi could spend days climbing on fantastic grippy Gabbro.
  • Skye Sea Cliff climbing - Kilt Rock, Neist, Floodigarry, Staffin Suisnish Pillar. Options galore, depending on your grade and climbing experience. Sea cliff climbing has such a great level of adventure.
